The Canberra Balloon Fiesta Incorporated, the organising body for the NOVOTEL Balloon Fiesta Australia has today had its provisional funding from the ACT Government to assist in the staging of its 2008 event withdrawn in 2 messages received by email at 8.15am and 8.20 am 19 February 2008.

Within 4 hours, The Minister for Tourism for the Australian Capital Territory made a media announcement launching a new ballooning event to be staged in Canberra which has no association whatsoever with the Canberra Balloon Fiesta Inc, nor NOVOTEL Balloon Fiesta Australia, nor any of the corporate partners and sponsors listed on this website.
